At Ty Nelson, we provide specialist residential
care and support for young individuals aged 16–25 with autism,
learning disabilities, communication needs, sensory processing challenges, and
behaviours of concern. Our service is built around Positive Behaviour Support
(PBS), person-centred care, and structured routines.
We are currently recruiting a committed and compassionate
Support Worker to join our team in Treharris. This opportunity is ideal for
individuals looking for a career in social care, residential care, adult
support work, or autism services.
The Role
As a Support Worker, you will deliver high-quality,
person-centred care while supporting independence, emotional wellbeing, and
daily living skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivering
person-centred care and support plans
- Supporting
independent living skills (cooking, budgeting, self-care)
- Promoting
positive behaviour support (PBS) and emotional regulation
- Supporting
community access and social inclusion
- Maintaining
accurate care records and documentation
- Working
within safeguarding, CQC, and health & social care standards
- Collaborating
with multidisciplinary teams
This Support Worker role involves a combination of hands-on
care, emotional support, and structured activity planning within a residential
setting.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience
in support work, care assistant roles, or residential care (desirable but
not essential)
- Passion
for working in adult social care / autism support
- Strong
communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills
- Ability
to remain calm, resilient, and patient under pressure
- Flexibility
for shift work, including weekends and sleep-ins
- Basic
IT skills for care documentation
- Full
UK driving licence (essential)
All applicants must be willing to undergo an enhanced
DBS check. A successful Support Worker will demonstrate professionalism,
reliability, and commitment to safeguarding.
