Make a Lasting Difference in a Child's Life
At Mill Rise House, part of Hopedale Children and Family Services, we're looking for compassionate, dedicated, and resilient individuals to join our team as Junior Residential Support Workers.
This is a rewarding opportunity to support children and young people with social, emotional, and behavioural needs within a warm, therapeutic residential setting. Every day, you'll help create a safe, nurturing environment where children can build confidence, develop life skills, and achieve positive outcomes.
About the Role
As a Junior Residential Support Worker, you'll work as part of a professional and supportive team, providing day-to-day care and guidance to children living at Mill Rise House.
You'll help young people overcome challenges, celebrate achievements, and experience the stability and encouragement they need to thrive.
No two days are the same. From supporting children with education and community activities to helping create memorable experiences and positive routines, you'll play a vital role in their journey.
What You'll Be Doing
- Providing high-quality therapeutic care and support to children and young people.
- Promoting the emotional, physical, and psychological wellbeing of every child.
- Building positive, trusting relationships and acting as a strong role model.
- Supporting children to engage in education, hobbies, activities, and community opportunities.
- Helping young people develop independence and life skills.
- Participating in family contact sessions and key worker responsibilities.
- Maintaining accurate records and contributing to care planning.
- Supporting household activities including meal preparation and maintaining a welcoming home environment.
- Accompanying children on outings, holidays, appointments, and educational activities.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues, therapists, and external professionals.
- Following safeguarding procedures and promoting a culture of safety, respect, and inclusion.
What We're Looking For
We are seeking individuals who are:
- Passionate about improving the lives of children and young people.
- Caring, patient, and emotionally resilient.
- Excellent communicators with a positive, can-do attitude.
- Able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Flexible and willing to work shifts and weekends as part of a rota.
- Keen to learn and develop within a residential childcare environment.
Previous experience in residential childcare, support work, education, youth work, or care is beneficial but not essential. We welcome applicants with the right values and commitment to make a difference.
What We Offer
- A supportive and experienced leadership team.
- Comprehensive induction and ongoing training.
- Opportunities to gain relevant qualifications and professional development.
- Regular supervision and career progression opportunities.
- The chance to work in a therapeutic environment where children are at the heart of everything we do.
- A rewarding role where you can genuinely change lives.
