Orbis Education and Care is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to join our established team at Dan Y Coed, a specialist children’s home supporting young people with autism and complex needs in Swansea. This role offers meaningful, hands‑on work within a supportive, values‑led organisation.

The Role

As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in the day‑to‑day care and development of the children living at Dan Y Coed in Swansea. Working closely with a skilled team, you will ensure each child feels safe, respected, and empowered.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing personalised care, emotional support, and daily guidance
  • Supporting education, routines, and structured activities
  • Promoting independence and positive behaviour
  • Encouraging community engagement within Swansea
  • Following individual care plans and safeguarding procedures
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues and senior staff

This Support Worker position offers the chance to build strong, positive relationships and have a lasting impact on children’s lives in Swansea.

What We’re Looking For

  • A caring, patient, and resilient approach
  • Passion for working with children in a residential setting
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Willingness to learn and develop professionally
  • Flexibility to work shift patterns, including weekends and occasional nights
  • Basic IT skills
  • Full UK driving licence (essential)

This role involves regulated activity with children and requires an enhanced DBS check with a barred list check.
